Armor Asia, subsidiary of a French group that has made CSR a priority
By receiving the "Sustainable business" trophy for SMEs, Armor's Asian subsidiary demonstrates the French group's ability to implement its CSR policy outside France. Armor intends to progressively bring all of its subsidiaries up to international standards, taking into account the socio-cultural contexts of each entity. This is validated by the prize awarded on November 8th, endorsing the measures taken at this Singapore production site of 75 people putting the company at the forefront of CSR oriented Singaporean SMEs. As Mark Day, Vice President and General Manager Asia, said, ”It is an honour to lead Armor Asia’s CSR efforts and to accept the award for Sustainable business on behalf of the entire team and the Armor Group. This award recognises the efforts of all staff and will serve as motivation to reach new levels of excellence in the company’s commitment to CSR”.
CSR in business, a question of collective responsibility
In Singapore, the Government is actively involved in the CSR dynamic of companies, by facilitating innovation in the field of renewable energies and by setting challenging policy conditions. At the Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards Gala, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat pointed out that not only is global warming "a real threat to a small island like Singapore", but that sustainable development in business was also crucial for its prosperity. In other words, CSR is a question of collective responsibility - a responsibility that is an integral part of the DNA of Armor.
