ARMOR BATTERY FILMS inaugurates its new Industry 4.0 plant dedicated to advanced battery technologies

September 30, 2025

On 24 September, after 20 months of construction and initial ramp-up, ARMOR BATTERY FILMS, the ARMOR GROUP company and key player in the battery value chain inaugurated its new manufacturing site.

Dedicated to the production of carbon-coated current collectors and equipped with fully automated Industry 4.0 production lines, this new site increases ARMOR BATTERY FILMS' production capacity fivefold. The factory now has a production capacity of 150 million m² of coated material per year, which corresponds to 40 GWh. This capacity would be sufficient to produce the equivalent of the energy of 50 KWh batteries for 800,000 electric vehicles, or two-thirds of the current French EV fleet. With this new site, the company aims to support the growth of battery manufacturers worldwide and achieve €100 million in turnover within 10 years.

"Beyond the recent turbulence, the lithium-ion battery market continues to grow at a steady pace, with considerable prospects for development in Europe and the United States, driven by the European Union's climate targets and the increasing electrification of uses. This inauguration is a strong marker for us, demonstrating that in France we can innovate and industrialise products that promote our competitiveness and energy independence. Our carbon coated current collectors enhance battery safety and extend lifespan by over 20%, which is essential for our data centres, stationary energy storage systems (ESS), electric mobility, etc. Supporting the battery value chain in Europe, they are at the heart of the ecological transition and serve the continent's industrial sovereignty," says Hubert de Boisredon,Chariman and CEO of ARMOR GROUP.

The event was attended by representatives from the State and local authorities: Tom Follet, Deputy Secretary General of the Loire-Atlantique Prefecture, Johann Boblin, Mayor of La Chevrolière, Franck Louvrier, Vice-President of the Pays de la Loire region, and Ronan Dantec, Senator for Loire-Atlantique. Numerous international customers and partners were also present.
